Boy's Basketball @RMS vs. Meeker 9:00am

  • Homework:  RMS is dedicated to high achievement for all students.  The purpose of homework is to provide an opportunity for students to practice newly learned skills.  The completion of homework allows teachers to effectively evaluate the proficiency of these skills and offers valuable information that is used when teachers plan follow-up activities.  It is very important that your child complete their homework on a daily basis.
    • How can you help with homework?
      • First, check your child’s planner.  Planners are to be filled out in each class in all grade levels.  Students should have their homework or class-work recorded. If your child is having difficulty completing their homework, is not writing their homework in their planner, or is not bringing homework home it is time to contact your child’s teacher and check in on his/her progress.
    • It is vital that we work together as a team, to help students reach meet the high achievement goals necessary in today’s fast paced world.

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and others who want to volunteer:  The STEP reading class is in need of volunteers to come in between 11:45 and 12:15 to listen to students read.  It doesn't need to be every day - even once a week would help.  It a simple process of listening to one student at a time read to you for 2 minutes.  It will probably take about 5 minutes per student, but it would be a great learning experience for the student.  (It's also kind of fun!) Just give Kathy Holmgren a call at the school before 8:15 or after 3:30.  You can also email me.  Thanks for your help and consideration.

Winter Concert:  Tuesday December 9th @ 7:00 pm in the HS auditorium. Students need to arrive by 6:30 in appropriate concert attire.  Concerts are NOT optional.  Failure to come to the concert will result in a failing grade.

Healthy Snacks for Kids
Does your child ask for food two hours after a meal?
Children can’t eat a lot of food at one time due to their small stomachs, but they still need enough calories to grow. Healthful snacking is a way to get the calories they need, so offer kids snacks that provide a variety of nutrients:

  • Dry cereal mixed with dried fruit
  • Animal crackers and a glass of milk
  • Cottage cheese and fruit
  • String cheese and crackers
  • Peanut butter on apple slices, crackers or bread
  • Tortillas rolled with sliced turkey
Make snacks fun, pack them with plenty of nutrition and schedule snacks so kids’ appetites aren’t spoiled for mealtime.
