Parent Advisory Committee  - October. 17 2007

Mrs. Ward, Mrs. Davis, Mr. Dillon, Mrs. Carlson, Mrs. Stapp, Mrs. Bailey, Mrs. Neilson, Mrs. Staley, Mrs. Denney.

1. Fund Raising Request – Ms. Ward
            Destination Imagination (DI) – DI mostly self-funded for trips and supplies. Would like to again to sell Little Caesars Pizza (DI raised $2,500 last year).  The committee unanimously voted for DI to run the fundraiser.
            NJHS has designed a panther hoodie with a panther logo for the middle school students. The prices would run between $19.50 and $23.50. The NJHS students decided not to have the shirt to specify the middle school thinking that parents etc. could also wear the students. The Committee unanimously voted for the hoodie fundraiser.

2. School Goals for 2007-08
            The committee looked over the print up of the PAC goals. The committee approved the goals.

3. Attendance Review
            6th and 7th stayed above 95%.  The 8th grade was at 93%; this is the class of 20 students.  The overall attendance was above 95%.  Mrs. Neilson asked if there were any attendance incentives. Mrs. Ward explained the attendance drawing that the school does.

4. Middle School CSAP Results
            Mrs. Ward explained that the CSAP handouts chart the classes through time. Mrs. Neilson asked about the current 6th graders CSAP scores. The committee had no comments or questions.

5. MAP Results
            Mrs. Ward explained how to read the MAP Scores.  Mrs. Neilson asked if the parents are going to get the results of the MAPS scores.

            The Halloween costume dance (no masks) has been moved from the 26th to the 27th.
