2nd handout - Projection of future enrollment with preschool students counting as half a student.
3rd handout - unanticipated loss of enrollment numbers - averaging a loss of 10 to 20 students a year in the last six years.
4th handout - budget - Monies saved from past is being eroded by the state equalization program. Need to look at revenue sources and budget prioritizing.
Committee will think about prioritizing Teacher ratios / Building Closures / After school activities sports / and make recommendations next meeting.Community Networking Group - at first said that did not understand the full impact of the declining enrollment. The group is supportive of the Recreation Center initiative.

Prioritizing budget issues. Look at changing middle school to intramural sports or allowing 6th graders to play.
Mr. Taylor did a writing assessment of all students. The writing will be graded same as CSAP and hopefully Mr. Taylor will have assessments to share with parents at Parent Teacher Conferences.
Mrs. Dillon - complimented on the new hires.
Mr. Keuter - Vending Machine with water, Gatorade or PowerAde and Sobe. The school does not have cooling system for the water cooler. Possible to control when the machine would vend. Machine placed in the corner of the practice gym, will not stick out as much as the bleachers. The school would be with in the state requirements. Machine is free, can only fill with Pepsi product. Mr. Mecham suggested having Pepsi fill machines then you don't have to count money fill the machine, or count money. Mrs. Walz said that machine should be 75% water.
Mrs. Dillon feels that we should try it. Unanimous vote for the vending machine.
Mrs. Ward - Reproductive system is covered with the 7th graders have to know reproductive parts, menstrual cycle, growth and development and then students ask questions anonymously Mrs. Ward answers. Parents have to opt into the program. Mrs. Dillon, Mrs. Walz and Mrs. Barlow are very supportive.Next meeting Feb. 28th 2005.
